Code of Behaviour
Through our Equality and Diversity policies, SUPERIOR COLLEGE LONDON is
committed to opposing discrimination of any kind by providing a safe, open,
hospitable and fair environment for teaching and learning.
Students are expected to:
- • Behave at all times in an appropriate manner
- Attend the College the days for which their courses are
scheduled for 15-18 hours per week.
- The attendance policy is to mark the register twice – once at
the start of lecture and another at the end of the lecture. Students
are marked “L†(LATE) if they arrive within 15 minutes of starting a
lecture, if students arrive after 15 minutes the lecture has started
then they are not allowed to attend that particular session and are
market “A†(ABSENT). Three “L†marks are equal to one “Aâ€.
- Inform the College immediately (or as soon as is practically
possible), of any unforeseen absences by telephoning the College.
- Present themselves in a clean, tidy and respectable manner
- Submit all coursework in an acceptable format and on time
- Report to a member of staff anything which may constitute a
hazard to another individual
- Ensure that their actions or deeds cannot be construed as
intentionally harmful or discriminatory to any other individual,
especially in relation to harassment, bullying, vindictiveness etc.
- Keep all classrooms, offices and communal areas in and around
the College used by the student, tidy and free from hazards by
disposing of waste carefully, ensuring that bag straps, jacket/coat
sleeves etc that may cause a danger for others.
The above list is not exhaustive.
Students will not:
- possess, consume, distribute or misuse any form of illegal drug,
alcohol or solvent on College premises
- bring, display or use any form of weapon on College premises
- display any form of academic impropriety
- use violence, indecent, disorderly, intimidating, threatening or
abusive, inappropriate language or behavior towards any individual,
students, staff members
- intentionally damage, or caused to be damaged any equipment or
property belonging to the College or any other individual in the
College premises
- steal or otherwise remove any equipment or property belonging to
the College or any individual in the College premises without the
consent of the owner
- consume food or liquids in the vicinity of computer equipment
- incite or participate in any form of harassment, including
sexual or racial harassment to any individual in the College
premises
- incite or participate in any form of fighting or physical/verbal
assault on any other individual in the College premises
- misuse computer equipment including, but not limited to,
accessing pornographic websites on the internet
- commit or cause to be committed any act of fraud, deceit,
deception or dishonesty towards the College and other individual in
the College premises
- commit or cause to be committed any act of forgery, unauthorized
possession, misuse or alteration of any College document, record or
identification card
- maliciously activate any fire alarm equipment where no emergency
exists
- use mobile telephones, or other personal equipment, to the
distraction of others or in places where there are signs prohibiting
the use of such equipment
- commit or cause to be committed any act of vandalism to the
College or any other individuals in the College premises
- disrupt or improperly interfere with the academic,
administrative, social or other activities
- commit or collude in the act of plagiarism, or in any way
attempt to gain unfair advantage in course work, assessments,
examinations etc
The above list is not exhaustive.
Intentional, violation of any of the above rules, whether committed
on the College premises or on external College authorized activities
(e.g.. visits, social events etc), or where the act of misconduct
involves or affects the College (e.g. damage to its reputation or
property), will result in disciplinary action being taken by the College
against the perpetrator/s. This may result in Police intervention and
criminal charges being brought.
If the perpetrator/s is/are under the age of eighteen years, their
parents, careers, legal guardians or sponsors may be informed.
